What the report is
When any line on a SmartOrder upload cannot be fulfilled, Leaf Trade returns a CSV named csv_order_upload_<number>_errors.csv. It lists one row per line that failed, with the product, the location, and the reason.
Everything else on your upload still went through. The orders for your good lines are already on your Orders page.
DO NOT RE-UPLOAD THE WHOLE FILE Your successful lines already created orders. Uploading the same file again creates them a second time. Instead, fix the underlying data, then add the failed lines to the orders Leaf Trade already created. |
The columns
Column | What it tells you |
product_id | The product on the line that failed. |
unit | The package size on that line. |
location | The location ID from that column's header. |
requested_qty | How many cases you asked for. |
available_qty | How many cases Leaf Trade could fulfill. Blank when the problem is not inventory. |
error_type | One of the three types below. |
error_detail | The reason, in plain English. |
The three error types
insufficient_inventory
Leaf Trade could not find enough queued inventory for that product and unit at the stock location you chose. In practice this is usually one of four things:
The variant is Hidden. Only Visible variants are queued. Set it to Visible under Catalog > Inventory/Pricing, then add the line to the order.
The unit does not match. The unit has to read exactly as the package size does in Leaf Trade. 100mg, 100.00mg and 40g are three different package sizes to the uploader. Check the product's package sizes and match the text.
The inventory is allocated to an open order. The green allocated number on Inventory/Pricing shows what is already spoken for. Quantity Allocation.
You are out. The detail line shows exactly how many cases were available.
The detail line reads in both cases and units, for example Requested 4 cases (40 units), only 0 cases (0 units) available, so you can see the case conversion Leaf Trade applied from your case_size.
unrecognized_location_id
The header on that column is not a location ID Leaf Trade recognizes on your account. Usually a store name, a typo, or an ID that belongs to a different customer. Find the right number under Customers > Management > Locations, correct the header for next time, and add those lines to the order.
bucket_inventory_not_supported
That product uses bucket inventory, which is tracked by weight rather than by unit. SmartOrder is a unit based upload, so it cannot pull from weight based inventory. Add those lines to the order manually. Very few accounts use bucket inventory, so most teams will never see this one.
Why the report gets shorter
The report is pointing at your data, not just your file. Teams that fix what it flags at the source, by standardizing package sizes and keeping inventory Visible, tell us their uploads come back clean within a few weeks.
STILL STUCK? Send the error report to your Account Manager or support@leaftrade.com and we will help you track it down. |
